Description: The seasoned practitioner recognizes that presenting physical complaints are often accompanied by or intimately related to issues of the emotions. In this third of her continuing series of seminars on root treatment strategies based upon 38 years of study and research into the true meaning of the Ancient Characters found in the Su Wen, the Ling Shu, and other classical acupuncture and Taoist texts, Ms. Matsumoto will discuss and demonstrate the importance of Ren Mai / Du Mai Centerline Reflections as they pertain to the treatment of disorders of the emotions.

About the presenter: Kiiko Matsumoto, Lic. Ac. is internationally known for her scholarly work on acupuncture and the interpretation of Chinese classic texts. She has published three fundamental texts on acupuncture in English (Hara Diagnosis: Reflections on the Sea, Five Elements and Ten Stems, Eight Extraordinary Vessels) and many articles as well as video productions in Japanese, Ms. Matsumoto is known for her ability to integrate the work of very important Japanese Masters such as Master Nagano, Master Kawai and Dr. Manaka with the knowledge from the classic Chinese texts and her own findings into a coherent clinically effective style. Her vast clinical experience and powerful teaching style are her trademark. Ms. Matsumoto holds two very busy practices in Newton and Natick, Massachusetts as well as teaching nationally and internationally. She is also the co-director of the Clinical Acupuncture Course for physicians at Harvard Medical School, Department of Continuing Education and the Beth Israel Hospital, Department of Anesthesia.
